YOU DO NOT NEED PERMISSION TO START!
YOU DO NOT NEED PERMISSION TO START!

Stop waiting for the perfect moment. Stop waiting for someone to believe in you. Start with what you have, where you are, and who you are today.
One of the biggest mistakes young people make is waiting.
They wait for money. They wait for a better phone. They wait for the right connections, the perfect opportunity, or someone to tell them, “You are ready. Go ahead!”
Meanwhile, months pass. Years pass. Opportunities come and go, and their dreams remain dreams.
Here is a truth we must learn early in life: Nobody is coming to give you permission to become the person you want to be.
Sometimes, the very thing holding you back is not a lack of resources, talent, or opportunity. It is the belief that you must have everything figured out before you begin.
But life does not work that way.
Every Great Journey Begins Somewhere
Think about it.
A student decides to write their first article, even though their English is not perfect.
A young woman starts selling snacks at school with a small basin because she wants to become financially independent.
A young man begins learning how to code using free lessons on his phone because he cannot afford an expensive computer.
A young leader steps forward to serve their community without knowing exactly how everything will work out.
They may not have the best tools, the strongest connections, or the support of everyone around them. But they have something powerful: the courage to begin.
They start small. They make mistakes. They learn, adjust, and try again.
Over time, what once seemed impossible becomes achievable.
The difference is not always that they had better opportunities. Sometimes, it is simply that they were willing to start before they felt ready.
Why Do We Keep Postponing Our Dreams?
1. Fear of being judged
We worry about what people will say if we try and fail. We imagine the criticism, the laughter, and the negative comments.
But ask yourself: Will those people live your life for you? Will their opinions build your future?
You cannot allow the fear of people’s opinions to become the prison of your potential.
2. Waiting for perfect conditions
We tell ourselves that we will start when we have enough money, a better device, more time, or greater confidence.
But perfect conditions rarely come.
Sometimes, the resources you need will only become available after you take the first step.
3. Comparing ourselves to others
We look at people who are already successful and feel discouraged because we are not where they are.
We forget that we are looking at their progress, not their starting point.
You cannot compare your first chapter with someone else’s tenth chapter and expect to feel encouraged.
4. Lack of confidence
We convince ourselves that we are not good enough, experienced enough, or prepared enough.
But confidence does not always come before action. Sometimes, confidence is built through action.
You become better by practising, stronger by facing challenges, and wiser by learning from mistakes.
What Should You Do Instead?
Stop making enormous plans that never leave your notebook. Start taking small, meaningful steps.
✅ Want to become a writer? Write 100 words today.
✅Want to start a business? Speak to one potential customer.
✅ Want to learn a new skill? Complete one lesson and practise what you learn.
✅ Want to become a better leader? Identify one problem in your community and take a practical step toward solving it.
✅ Want to build your personal brand? Share one useful idea with the world today.
You do not have to accomplish everything in one day.
You only have to do something that moves you forward.
Then do it again tomorrow.
Imagine what 30 days of consistent effort could produce. Imagine the skills you could develop, the people you could meet, and the confidence you could build simply by refusing to remain where you are.
Small steps may appear insignificant today, but repeated consistently, they can create extraordinary change.
Give Yourself Permission to Be a Beginner
Let me tell you something: Your first attempt will probably not be your best, and that is perfectly fine.
Your first article may contain mistakes. Your first business idea may need adjustments. Your first public speech may make you nervous. Your first leadership decision may teach you a difficult lesson.
That does not mean you should stop.
It means you are learning.
Every expert was once a beginner. Every successful entrepreneur once had an idea that had not been tested. Every confident speaker once had to overcome nervousness.
The people who grow are not necessarily those who never make mistakes. They are those who learn from their mistakes and keep moving forward.
Do not wait until you are perfect to begin. Begin, learn, improve, and become better along the way.
A Final Word to Every Young Person
As young people, we must stop allowing fear, excuses, and the opinions of others to determine the direction of our lives.
You may not have the money you need today. You may not have the connections you desire. You may not have the best equipment or the support you hoped for.
But what do you have right now?
What skill can you develop? What idea can you test? What problem can you help solve? What small action can you take before the day ends?
Start there.
You do not need everyone’s approval to pursue a meaningful dream. You do not need to have all the answers before taking the first step. And you do not need to wait until tomorrow to begin building the future you want.
You can adjust a plan that has started. You can improve a skill you are practising. You can learn from an attempt that fails. But you cannot make progress on a dream you continually postpone.
So, stop waiting for permission.
Start with what you have. Start where you are. Start today.
Your future may not be built in a single day, but the decision to build it can begin today.
