NEVER GIVE UP YOUR PRESENT SITUATION IS NOT THE END
NEVER GIVE UP: SOMETIMES THE PATH CHANGES, NOT THE PURPOSE 💪🏽🔥
There was a time in my life when I felt like I was not moving forward.
I watched people around me progress while I felt like I was standing in the same place. My mates were moving ahead, achieving things, and finding their paths, while I kept asking myself, “When will it be my turn?”
I had dreams too.
At one point, I wanted to become a petroleum engineer. I believed that was the path I was supposed to take. I tried. I stepped outside my comfort zone. I registered for the concours, prepared myself, and hoped that things would work out.
But I failed.
And honestly, that failure broke something inside me.
Looking at the number of people being accepted made it even harder. I started questioning myself. I wondered whether I was good enough. I even felt like registering again, but the fear of facing another disappointment was real.
There were moments when I felt like I was not doing enough with my life.
But today, when I look back, I realize something:
Failure did not end my journey. It redirected me.
I may not have become a petroleum engineer as I once imagined, but I discovered other abilities within myself that I probably would never have discovered if everything had gone according to my original plan.
I started stepping further outside my comfort zone.
From being a Class Coordinator, I became a Secretary General.
From simply being a student trying to find my way, I began taking leadership responsibilities and working with people.
I discovered my passion for youth empowerment, leadership, community development, data and communication.
I had opportunities to interact with people I once only imagined meeting community leaders, state officials, parliamentarians, and other people working to create change.
I became a Youth Empowerment Winner.
I participated in community mapping activities and learned how young people can contribute to solving real problems within their communities.
And today, I can proudly say that I am happy with the person I am becoming. ❤️
Not because everything is perfect.
Not because I have achieved everything I want.
But because I am no longer constantly comparing my journey with everyone else’s.
I have learned that life does not move at the same speed for everyone.
Sometimes, you will look around and feel like everyone is ahead of you.
Don’t let that discourage you.
Someone else’s progress does not mean your own progress has stopped.
Your journey is yours.
There may be seasons when you feel stuck. There may be opportunities you lose. There may be exams you fail, applications that get rejected, businesses that don’t work, or dreams that don’t happen the way you imagined.
But please don’t allow one disappointment to convince you that your life has no direction.
Sometimes, what looks like a setback is simply a redirection.
The important thing is to keep learning, keep improving, keep working, and keep believing in yourself.
Go beyond your comfort zone.
Take the opportunity to learn something new.
Surround yourself with people who challenge you to grow.
And when you fail, don’t only ask, “Why did I fail?”
Also ask:
“What is this experience trying to teach me?”
My journey has taught me that success is not always about getting exactly what you wanted.
Sometimes success is becoming someone you never imagined you could become.
Today, I am still growing.
I still have dreams.
I still face challenges.
I still have a long way to go.
But I am no longer the person who believes that one failure defines his future.
I have learned to keep moving.
So, if you are currently watching your mates move forward while you feel stuck, remember this:
Your time is not necessarily late. Your journey is simply different.
Don’t give up because someone else is ahead.
Don’t give up because you failed once.
Don’t give up because you were rejected.
Don’t give up because your first plan didn’t work.
And don’t give up simply because the journey is taking longer than you expected.
Keep going.
One day, you may look back and realize that the chapter you thought was the end was actually the beginning of something greater.
I know this because I have lived it.
From failure and uncertainty, to leadership, youth empowerment, community development, and opportunities I never imagined my journey is still being written.
And if there is one thing I want you to remember, it is this:
NEVER GIVE UP. YOUR CURRENT SITUATION IS NOT THE FINAL DESTINATION. 🔥
Keep going.
Keep growing.
Keep believing.
Your story is not over yet. ❤️🔥
