Cameroon Gendarmerie CONCOURS 2025: Key Information
The Ministry Delegate to the Presidency in charge of Defense (MINDEF) is preparing to publish, in the coming days, the official announcement of the recruitment examination for gendarme cadets and non-commissioned officers for 2025.
What to expect?
Referring to the previous examination, whose recruitment phase recently ended, the publication of the new official announcement is imminent. The previous call for applications was launched between December and January, and the tests took place between March and April. It is therefore highly likely that the 2025 examination will follow a similar schedule.
Gendarmerie Concours Profiles
For this edition, recruitment to the Cameroonian Gendarmerie will concern three categories:
– 300 non-commissioned officer cadets with a General Service option
– 40 non-commissioned officer cadets with a Military Health option
– 3,000 gendarme cadets
Exam Locations and Procedure
The written and physical exams will be held in the capitals of Cameroon’s ten administrative regions. The exact date will be specified in the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Defence’s press release.
General Conditions for Applying for the Cameroonian Gendarmerie Examination
Eligibility Criteria
To be admitted to the Cameroon National Gendarmerie Examination, each candidate must meet the following requirements:
– Be of Cameroonian nationality.
– Have never been convicted by a court.
– Be single with no dependent children.
– Be of good moral character.
– Be physically, intellectually, and medically fit.
– Meet the minimum height requirements:
1. 1.67 m (5 ft 6 in) for men
2. 1.60 m (5 ft 3 in) for women
Specific Requirements Depending on the Profile
1. Non-Commissioned Officer Candidates (General Service and Military Health)
Be between 18 and 23 years old as of January 1, 2025 (up to 28 years old for the Military Health sector).
Required Certificate
Be a holder of:
1. A Probatoire or GCE Ordinary Level with at least 6 subjects (religion is not considered).
2. A recognized professional diploma for candidates in the Military Health field.
2. Gendarme Cadets
Be between 18 and 23 years old on January 1, 2025.
Hold a BEPC or GCE Ordinary Level with at least 4 subjects, excluding religion.
Application File: Documents Required
The file must contain the following documents:
1. A handwritten application on plain paper, stamped 1,000 FCFA.
2. A certified copy of the birth certificate, dated within the last 3 months.
3. A certified copy of the highest degree obtained.
4. A curriculum vitae (CV) signed by the applicant.
5. A completed information sheet.
6. Four passport photos (4×4 cm, color, bareheaded).
7. A certificate of Cameroonian nationality.
8. A criminal record extract (bulletin no. 3, less than 3 months old).
9. A certificate of celibacy.
10. A stamped envelope with the applicant’s full address.
11. A payment receipt:
1. 10,000 FCFA for gendarme cadets.
2. 15,000 FCFA for non-commissioned officers.
Rules to Follow
It is forbidden to marry before completing three years of service.
All original documents may be requested for verification by the evaluation committees.
Tips for Passing the Competitive Exam
To increase your chances of passing:
– Engage in regular physical training to pass the athletic tests.
– Review your academic foundations (math, English, general knowledge, etc.)
